As the evening darkens we hop on our minibus and travel 15km north from Äkäslompolo Village to our remote basecamp next to our private winter biking trails. After an equipment check and instructions from our guide we are ready for the ride! Bicycle light illuminates the trail and snow covered trees glitter in the light, the surrounding forest is quiet and dark. The atmosphere is magical! On a half way break we enjoy some Lappish snacks and hot berry juice by the open fire in our private little hut. If the northern lights are active the hut area is perfect for admiring the magical phenomenon.

Please note
This tour is suitable for beginners. Fair physical condition and ability to ride a mountain bike with ease is required. Bike sizes are suitable for 150+ cm riders. 

Riding distance and duration may vary according to groups ability and snow/weather conditions. Snow/trail conditions of the day affect the difficulty level of the sport.

 

What do I need to bring?

Wear warm winter clothing according to weather and the warmest winter boots/shoes you got! Feet get easily cold when biking in winter. Shoes should be loose enough to fit extra woolen sock easily.​
